THE PRACTICAL GUIDES

Sauna and ice bath in Melbourne: booking both in one visit

If you want a sauna and ice bath in Melbourne in one visit, choose the booking that includes both. A venue can advertise both facilities while selling separate appointments. A bathhouse ticket, a private contrast suite and a sauna-only session cover different visits.

Start with shared saunas and bathhouses if you want communal entry, private sessions if you want a room for your booking, or the cold plunge directory to check which venues advertise cold immersion.

When you specifically want infrared sauna

Soak Origin includes a dry cedar sauna. Soak’s infrared sauna page describes booking infrared on its own or pairing it with a bathhouse session. If infrared is essential, check that both appointments appear in your booking; an Origin ticket’s sauna inclusion does not establish private infrared access.

Branches also differ. Nimbus Co Richmond lists a 45-minute infrared sauna service and a 15-minute ice-bath service on its Richmond page. That page does not describe the Fitzroy North contrast suite. Ask Richmond whether it can arrange both appointments together, how the changeover works and which areas are private.

Resolve location conflicts before paying

Beyond Rest’s contrast service page currently identifies Hawthorn East, while its linked article also names Collingwood. We have not confirmed a current Collingwood combined booking. Use the operator’s booking menu or ask the venue to confirm the location and duration rather than relying on the article alone.

Make the final booking check specific

Before checkout, match the venue, service name, date and guest count to the visit you want. Confirm that both facilities are available within that booking, whether changing and showers use session time, and whether a second guest needs a separate ticket or a room upgrade. If buying a pack, check that its credits apply to the combined service.

Once you have the right product, use the session-price comparison guide to compare the full cost, the private-or-shared guide for room access, and the first-visit checklist for preparation. This guide covers booking inclusions; it does not prescribe hot-and-cold routines or assess treatment outcomes.
