THE PRACTICAL GUIDES

Infrared sauna in Melbourne: private rooms, guest prices and session time

For an infrared sauna visit in Melbourne, compare the booking as carefully as the room: how many people it covers, how long you have, what is provided and whether an extra service changes the price.

The examples below come from our infrared sauna directory. Their official pages were checked on 17 October 2026. This is a comparison of published facilities and booking terms, not a ranking or an assessment of health benefits. We have not visited or tested the treatments.

Start with your group and the room you need

  • One person: compare a casual solo appointment, including shower and changing arrangements.
  • Two or three people together: ask for the total for your whole group, the stated room capacity and whether everyone shares the same appointment.
  • Sauna plus another activity: check the named package. An infrared session, a contrast suite and a sauna-and-float booking are different products.

If you mainly want a shared bathhouse, browse social and communal venues instead. If a cold plunge is essential, use our combined sauna-and-ice-bath guide.

Fitzroy North · Private appointments for up to two

Nimbus Co: keep infrared and contrast bookings separate

The Fitzroy North page describes 45-minute private infrared rooms for up to two guests, with towels, water and an in-room shower. It separately lists a 60-minute private contrast suite with an infrared sauna and ice bath. Choosing the infrared appointment alone does not establish that the plunge is included.

We did not verify a standard casual price in the live booking selector. Obtain the solo or two-person total for your chosen service and ask whether the appointment includes shower and changing time. See the Fitzroy North profile.

Brunswick · Solo, two-person and three-person prices

FRESH Treatments: compare the room total

The infrared service page lists 45-minute private sessions, with a shower, towels and water. It advertises a single visit at A$40 solo, A$60 for two people or A$70 for three, and includes red light in the named service. The site identifies stair-only access to its first-floor clinic.

The two-person figure is a room total: evenly split, A$60 is A$30 each. It is not two separate private rooms. Confirm the selected group booking, current checkout price and access needs. See the Brunswick profile.

Braybrook · Casual visits and separate combinations

City Cave: add the second guest before comparing

The Braybrook branch page lists infrared sauna at A$49 casual, with A$20 added for a couple: an advertised total of A$69. It separately prices sauna-and-float and sauna-and-massage combinations. Those are not equivalent to a sauna-only booking.

Confirm the casual appointment duration, room arrangements and any red-light option in the current branch selector. Do not apply another branch's offer or assume an add-on is included. See the Braybrook profile.

Write down what the appointment clock includes

A “45-minute session” can leave an unanswered scheduling question: is that the whole appointment or time inside the cabin? Ask when the room becomes available, when you must leave and whether the shower is within the same slot. That matters if you are fitting the visit around work or sharing one shower with another guest.

Record four times in your plan: arrival, appointment start, room finish and departure. Use the operator's answer for each, rather than adding an assumed changing allowance. If you want a longer appointment, ask whether that is a separate product or an extension that must be booked ahead.

When a pack is actually cheaper

Compare a pack only after you know you want to return to that venue. Ask about expiry, cancellations, transferability, eligible branches and whether a credit is for one person or one room. A pack advertised for solo visits should not be treated as a couples pack without confirmation.

Use this simple calculation: pack price ÷ visits you realistically expect to use. For example, a hypothetical A$180 pack containing five visits costs A$36 per visit if all five are used, but A$60 for each used visit if you attend only three before expiry. These are illustrative numbers, not a venue offer. Include a second-person charge where applicable.

Make a two-person comparison you can use

  1. Name the same product: infrared sauna only, the same number of people and the intended date.
  2. Get the full total: include the second guest, booking charges and any optional service you actually want.
  3. Check privacy: confirm that the room is exclusive to your booking, not simply a cabin inside a shared area.
  4. Check practical access: stairs, changing space, shower location and anything you need the venue to accommodate.
  5. Check changes: cancellation deadline, late-arrival treatment and whether a pack credit can be lost.

Ask the venue about participation requirements before paying. If you have a health concern about using a sauna, discuss it with an appropriate clinician rather than choosing from marketing claims. This guide does not prescribe temperatures, durations or a treatment routine.

Once the product and group size match, use our session-price comparison and private-versus-shared guide to finish your shortlist.
