THE PRACTICAL GUIDES

Float and sauna in Melbourne: compare packages and separate bookings

A float-and-sauna outing can be a named package, two services booked separately, or a pack of credits used across several visits. Establish which one you are buying before comparing a price. A shared sauna appointment also does not mean two people can use the same float tank.

This guide compares the published booking structures at three existing Melbourne venues. It concerns appointment planning, inclusions and price units. For a different combination, see sauna and cold-plunge bookings; for a sauna-only room comparison, use the infrared sauna guide.

Choose the package structure

Existing venuePublished structureDetail to confirm
Urban Float, RingwoodA Relaxation Combo listing one 60-minute float and one 45-minute infrared sauna appointment for A$110.The selected product, appointment sequence, changing time and actual availability.
City Cave West MelbourneThe national Flauna package combines infrared sauna and float therapy, described as a two-hour experience. The West Melbourne price, guest count and the local booking's precise inclusions.
Innerverse SouthbankThe site advertises infrared sauna and floating separately; its Southbank FAQ describes individual float tanks.Whether both services can be arranged in one visit and how many separate float places are needed.

Urban Float: compare the same service lengths

Urban Float's pricing page lists a 60-minute float at A$79 and a solo 45-minute infrared sauna appointment at A$45. Those individual rates add to A$124. Its A$110 Relaxation Combo lists those same service lengths, a published difference of A$14.

This is an advertised-price comparison for one float and one solo sauna appointment. The combined service allocations add to 105 minutes, but that does not establish the whole time you need at the venue. Confirm arrival, showering, changing and any gap between appointments. Do not use a two- or three-person sauna rate as though it includes extra floats.

The same page retains a cheaper Black Friday offer explicitly limited to November 2023. It is not used as a current price here. Check the selected product rather than choosing the lowest number on a long promotions page. A multi-visit pack with two floats and two saunas also needs its own sharing, validity and scheduling check.

The operator's ordinary appointment policy asks for at least 24 hours' notice to cancel or reschedule without charge; later changes may attract the full appointment price. Check the terms of any specific promotion as well.

City Cave: use the named package and the local quote

City Cave's package page distinguishes Flauna, which combines infrared sauna and floating, from packages that add massage or combine massage with only one of those services. Its stated two-hour package duration should not be read as two hours inside a sauna.

The West Melbourne centre advertises both facilities. However, the national pricing page says rates vary by location. No verified West Melbourne Flauna total was established from the reviewed public pages, so another centre's rate is not substituted.

Ask for the named package, number of guests and exact date together. If two people want to attend, establish whether the price covers both, whether the float is shared or separate, and whether appointments run together or consecutively. A sauna room's capacity alone does not answer those questions.

Innerverse: specify Southbank and individual float places

Innerverse's sauna page and float page establish the advertised services. The Southbank booking information says its three tanks accommodate one person per tank. Two visitors should not assume they share a single tank or that two tanks are available at the same time.

Keep Southbank attached to the request: the website also has another location's pricing and booking routes. Confirm the sauna allocation, separate float places, total time and complete price for the intended visit. The reviewed Southbank page states a 24-hour cancellation/rescheduling policy and 12-month validity for packs; a pack's validity is different from a reserved appointment.

A two-guest enquiry that produces a usable answer

For two adults seeking both services, prepare a short booking specification:

  1. One date and an arrival-to-departure window, including changing.
  2. Two float places: state whether simultaneous appointments matter.
  3. The sauna guest count and whether the room is exclusive to your booking.
  4. The exact package or separate services, with the total for both people.
  5. What happens to both bookings if a service is unavailable or the visit must move.

Check the operator's participation requirements for each service before committing. The service durations above describe bookings; they are not a suggested heat-exposure routine or a claim about health benefits. Browse infrared sauna venues or all sauna guides.
